Mark Chanloung, Thai National Skier, Ranks Top 3 in Asia for Winter Olympics Qualification
Mark Chanloung, Thailand's cross-country ski national athlete, showcased an impressive performance ranking third among Asian athletes in the qualifying round of the 25th Winter Olympics 'Milano-Cortina 2026' in Italy. In the sprint classic individual short distance qualifying race on February 10, 2024, Chanloung was the sole Thai athlete competing. He completed the race with a time of 3:35.71 minutes, finishing 69th overall. Despite not advancing to the next round, he finished less than 30 seconds behind Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo from Norway, who recorded the fastest time. Chanloung still has another competition in the 10km freestyle individual interval start event on February 13, 2024 at 5:45 PM.
