Civil Court Orders 'Jae Ning' to Pay 8 Million Baht for Defamation of Police Official's Wife

On February 9th, the Civil Court heard the case (Black Case No. P.4343/2568) where Sirinudda Hukpal, wife of former Deputy Police Chief Surachet Hukpal, filed a lawsuit against Thanatha for damages. In October 2567, the defendant gave an interview on the 'Tok Mai Tian' program, alleging that the plaintiff was having an affair with her husband and had invaded and stolen her property. The court determined that although the defendant did not directly mention the plaintiff's name, her comments were clearly understood to be about the plaintiff. The court ruled that the defendant must pay 8 million baht with 5% annual interest from the filing date, and cover the plaintiff's legal fees of 10,000 baht.
