Election Commission of Phichit Discovers Ballot Irregularities, Finds Polling Station Chairman Admitting to Misconduct
On February 10, 2024, at 10:00 AM in Phichit province, Amorn Ratchatangkoon, the provincial Election Commission director, discussed several election irregularities. A Pracharath party candidate had filed a complaint about votes exceeding voter turnout by nearly 30,000 votes - with 100,830 voters casting 130,175 total votes. Amorn noted that a separate incident occurred in Dong Charoen district's voting unit 2, where a police officer assigned to election security attempted to vote outside his designated voting district. The polling station chairman improperly allowed the officer to cast a ballot, creating an additional irregularity. Phichit province has only one official complaint filed so far.
