Kimukatsu Thailand: Japanese-French Style Tonkatsu from Japan's Original Multi-Layer Pork Cutlet Master
Kimukatsu, the renowned Japanese tonkatsu brand, has reopened in Thailand, located on the 2nd floor of Market Place Thonglor. The restaurant offers a distinctive dining experience blending Japanese and French (Parisian) styles with an innovative interior design that sets it apart from typical Japanese restaurants.
Owner Shin Thossaphol Chaichanavichikit was inspired after visiting a Kimukatsu restaurant in Japan 15 years ago. He aimed to refresh the brand by focusing on a unique Mille-feuille tonkatsu technique, where thin pork slices are layered 25 times and slow-fried to achieve a crispy exterior and juicy interior.
The restaurant offers four main Mille-feuille Tonkatsu flavors: Original, Cheese, Yuzu Kocho, and Garlic, along with seafood options like Salmon Katsu and Ebi Fry. Desserts include Hokkaido milk and yuzu orange ice cream.
Shin describes enjoying tonkatsu as 'rewarding oneself' - a delicious meal that provides energy for the day ahead.
