Silent Danger While Sleeping: Sleeping Positions that Can Harm Male Sexual Performance
Medical experts warn about a hidden health risk during sleep that can damage men's sexual performance. Dr. Chen Yu-xin, a urological surgeon, reveals that sleeping positions significantly impact male sexual health. Sleeping face down, even if not directly compressing sperm, can have negative long-term effects when done consistently.
Sleeping face down can cause uncomfortable nocturnal erections, disruptive sleep patterns, and inhibit testosterone hormone release. Additionally, this position can reduce fertility by increasing testicular temperature and decreasing sperm quantity and quality.
Doctors recommend side sleeping as the best position for sexual performance, followed by sleeping on the back. Side sleeping helps reduce pressure, improves blood circulation, reduces respiratory system pressure, and can decrease sleep apnea risks. Men experiencing erectile dysfunction or sexual performance issues should avoid face-down sleeping.
Lifestyle modifications like regular exercise, balanced diet, and proper sleeping positions can help improve sexual health. However, if sexual performance issues persist beyond three months, medical consultation is recommended.
