General Prayuth Exercises Voting Rights, Expects New Government to Meet Expectations
On February 8, 2024, General Prayuth Chanocha, a council member and former Prime Minister and Army Commander, arrived to vote at Polling Unit 11 in Phaya Thai District, Bangkok, located near the tent under the expressway at Pradipat Soi 5. Prayuth was listed as number 162 in the voting unit, which has 439 eligible voters and 434 referendum participants. He was a key figure of media interest during the elections. Prayuth noted that voting and the referendum are matters everyone must collaboratively oversee, and when asked if he expects a continuously functioning government, he firmly stated 'it must be so, otherwise why would we even hold elections?'
