Election Commission Orders New Voting in 3 Units Across 3 Provinces, Explains Decision Not to Recount Votes in Chonburi District 1
The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) announced new voting for three specific election units on February 22 in Bangkok, Nan, and Udon Thani provinces. ECT Chairman Narong Glunvarin and other commissioners held a press conference explaining the decisions for each province. The new voting will be conducted in specific polling units where irregularities were found, such as rain-damaged ballots, torn ballots, or issues with vote counting. For Bangkok's District 15, Nan Province's District 1, and Udon Thani's District 6, new voting will be held with replacement election officials. In Maha Sarakham Province, despite vote tally board discrepancies, the ECT decided against a recount due to lack of evidence of misconduct. The commission emphasized that they are following constitutional and legal procedures transparently.
