Italy Reveals Multiple Cyber Attacks on Winter Olympics
Italy, the host of the Winter Olympics, disclosed that they successfully blocked multiple cyber attacks originating from Russia targeting the Winter Games. The BBC reports that Antonio Tajani, Italy's Foreign Minister, revealed they had intercepted cyber attacks from Russia aimed at the Winter Olympics. The attacks targeted the Olympics website, hotels in Cortina d'Ampezzo, foreign ministry locations, and Washington embassies. 'We have prevented multiple cyber attacks on the foreign ministry websites. These attacks originated from Russia,' Tajani stated. The Winter Olympics 2026 will officially commence on February 6th.
