Bhumjai Thai Candidate Submits Vote-Buying Evidence to Udon Thani Election Commission, Challenges Election Results
On February 13, Dr. Phanu Pornwattana, a Bhumjai Thai parliamentary candidate for Udon Thani's 4th district, arrived at the Election Commission with his lawyer to submit a formal challenge to the election results. He presented evidence of vote-buying, including 7 cash envelopes of 300 baht each with names clearly listed, and video recordings showing vote canvassers preparing to distribute money. The incident allegedly occurred on February 5 near a gas station before entering Muang Village in Ban Muang Subdistrict. Seven witnesses and evidence including money envelopes, name lists, and video clips were also submitted to local police. Dr. Phanu hopes the Election Commission will investigate and prosecute those responsible based on the clear evidence provided.
