Palang Party Candidate Storms State Audit Office, Demands Complete Overhaul of Government Oversight System

On February 5th, 2024, Phussadee Thanakraikikit, a Palang Party list candidate, submitted a letter to the State Audit Office calling for a complete systemic overhaul of government oversight mechanisms. She argued that while the State Audit Office has the power to inspect every agency, no one can audit the auditors themselves. Phussadee emphasized that Thailand's corruption problems stem not from a lack of laws, but from failed oversight mechanisms that have become untouchable, with many political parties choosing to remain silent and avoid structural changes.
