DIPROM FLEXi Transforms Phetchaburi Desserts into Health Economy Era
Nattiya Netyasupa, Director-General of the Department of Industrial Promotion, revealed the department's efforts to promote and elevate Thai food and desserts as a cultural charm that attracts international tourists. Thai desserts, a long-inherited culinary wisdom, clearly reflect Thai identity. Under the DIPROM FLEXi policy, the focus is on adapting to the health economy era, addressing consumer health behaviors and government policies.
The department recognizes Phetchaburi province's potential as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy and known as the 'Dessert City' due to its diverse local ingredients and Thai dessert production sites. By promoting local quality ingredients like Phetchaburi palm sugar and implementing innovative inventory management technologies, they aim to maintain traditional Thai dessert flavors while enhancing traceability and quality control.
'The department sees high growth potential in the Thai dessert industry. If we can transform the perception from 'overly sweet' to 'innovative health desserts', we can easily win the global market,' the director stated.
