Bangkok and Surrounding Areas Choke on PM2.5 Dust, Nonthaburi Hits Worst Levels

The Pollution Control Department reports widespread PM2.5 dust pollution across Bangkok and surrounding provinces. Air quality measurements show dust levels between 8.9 - 70.7 micrograms per cubic meter, exceeding the standard limit of 37.5 micrograms. Twenty provinces have surpassed safe dust levels, with the Sukhothai Thammathirat University area in Nonthaburi recording the highest dust concentration in Thailand. The forecast suggests dust levels will increase from February 15-17, with the department advising citizens to limit outdoor activities, wear masks, and avoid open burning to mitigate air pollution.
