National Student Sports Games Kick Off - Buriram Games Launches with Spectacular Opening Ceremony

On February 5, 2026, at the Buriram Provincial Administrative Organization Sports Stadium, His Majesty the King graciously appointed General Chalermchai Sitthisat as his royal representative to preside over the 45th National Student Sports Games, known as 'Khon Buriram Games'. The opening ceremony began with a performance titled 'This is Buriram', followed by an honor guard procession and parade of athletes from 10 regions. Four athletes carried the ceremonial torch, including national hockey, sumo, football, and athletics representatives. The event featured a mixed media performance with drone displays celebrating the official start of the games. The Department of Physical Education, in collaboration with Buriram Province, will host 26 sports competitions from February 4-12, 2026, with 6,800 athletes and officials participating. The event's mascots are a boy named 'Nong Sai Fa' and a girl named 'Nong Lava'.
