Gold prices today (Jan 30, 2024) have dropped by 6,100 baht compared to yesterday's closing price, with gold ornament prices now at 76,200 baht per unit, according to the latest information from the Gold Traders Association. Domestic gold bars are currently priced at 75,300 baht for buying and 75,400 baht for selling, as per the 75th announcement today. Gold ornament prices are at 73,798.88 baht for buying and 76,200 baht for selling. Hua Seng Heng analysts note that global gold prices are declining due to lower US unemployment benefit claims and a stable US dollar index at 96.16 units. The US 10-year bond yield remains steady at 4.23%. This follows US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's statement that the US will not intervene in currency markets and is committed to strengthening the dollar, which occurred after markets sold dollars in exchange for yen.
