OAAE and ARDA Launch Agricultural Economic Research Plan for 2027-2032

Peeraphun Kho Thong, Secretary-General of the Office of Agricultural Economics (OAAE), revealed discussions with the ARDA director to strategically develop the Agricultural Economic Research Plan for 2027-2032. The plan aligns with the 14th National Economic and Social Development Plan, focusing on evidence-based policy decision-making amid global economic, geopolitical, and trade standard fluctuations. The OAAE has designed a research portfolio (R1-R15) targeting competitive capabilities, including climate risk research, geopolitical impact assessments, supply chain analysis, and strategies to create farmer income stability. The plan also emphasizes transitioning to high-value production, smart agriculture technology evaluation, insurance system design, carbon tracking, and developing specialized agricultural economic zones. The collaboration aims to elevate Thai agricultural policy, increase productivity, and ensure sustainable farmer income.
