State Railway of Thailand Adjusts Red Line Train Station to Connect with Ramathibodi Hospital
The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is proceeding with adjustments to the Red Line train route, relocating the 'Rajavithi Station' to connect with Ramathibodi Hospital to improve public convenience. On February 9, 2026, SRT organized a public hearing to modify the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report for the Red Line commuter train extension project (Missing Link).
Key changes include:
1. Station Relocation: Moving approximately 100 meters south from the original location at Ubai Chedsadutis intersection
2. Station Renaming: Changing from 'Rajavithi Station' to 'Ramathibodi Station'
3. Network Connection: Building a Sky Walk to connect with the future Ramathibodi Station transit center
Attaphol Kao-Prasert, Chief Engineer of Special Projects and Construction, explained that the changes were proposed following Ramathibodi Hospital's request to directly connect the train station to the hospital building, facilitating easier access for patients, medical personnel, and the general public.
SRT plans to compile feedback from various stakeholders and submit a project modification proposal to the National Environment Board by December 2026, with expected construction to begin in 2028. The organization emphasizes its commitment to public participation and maximizing project benefits for the community.
