Nakhon Ratchasima Election Commission Clarifies Viral Video Incidents
On February 9th, Piyanat Klangphanom, Director of the Nakhon Ratchasima Election Commission Office, revealed that the overall voting process for 16 constituency seats and referendum was conducted smoothly. Two viral video clips showed polling station staff entering voting booths and whispering to voters. After investigating witnesses and those involved, the commission confirmed that in one incident, a polling staff member was helping a confused voter understand which ballot color corresponds to district and party list numbers. In another incident, a polling staff member mistakenly covered a candidate's photo with documents about another candidate's disqualification, which was promptly corrected after being pointed out. The commission is currently investigating additional claims of vote buying and election interference.
