Thailand to Face Kazakhstan in Davis Cup World Group Playoff Match

Suchay Pornchaiysakul, President of the Tennis Association of Thailand, announced that the International Tennis Federation (ITF) has completed the draw for the 2026 Davis Cup men's team championship. Thailand is in World Group 2 after defeating Puerto Rico 4-0 in the previous playoff round. The draw has matched Thailand against Kazakhstan for a match scheduled between September 18-20, 2569 (2026). The winning team will advance to the World Group 1 Playoffs in 2027, while the losing team will remain in World Group 2. The national team players will be selected based on world rankings, with the top 4 singles players and top doubles player earning selection. Historically, Thailand has previously faced Kazakhstan three times in Davis Cup competition, winning twice in 1999 and 2008, and losing once in 2009.
