Sawaeng Confident February 8 Election Will Avoid Previous Voting Controversies
Sawaeng Boonmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission of Thailand, expressed confidence about the upcoming February 8 election and referendum. He emphasized that this election will be different from the early voting on February 1, which saw large crowds of up to 50,000-60,000 people in some locations and envelope addressing issues. This time, each polling station will have an average of 500 voters across 100,000 polling units, and he is certain there will be no repeat of previous controversies. Sawaeng noted that while some minor issues were reported, such as a documentation problem in Chonburi province, most concerns are not significant. The Election Commission is collecting reports from all provincial offices to verify any potential irregularities and ensure a smooth voting process.
