Bhumjaithai Party MP Candidate Requests Vote Recount After Losing by 113 Votes
On February 10, at the Election Commission office in Narathiwat, Waeruslan Masaleh, MP candidate for Narathiwat's District 3 (covering Waeng, Sungai Kolok, and Cho Airong) from Bhumjaithai Party, submitted documents requesting a vote recount. Waeruslan highlighted three key irregularities: 1) Delayed vote counting, with his district finishing at 3:00 AM while others completed by 9:00 PM, 2) Unusual vote swings where his initial lead of nearly 100% suddenly reversed, and 3) Inconsistent voter registration numbers and late ballot box submissions. He emphasized seeking transparency and is willing to accept the final result if a thorough investigation confirms his loss. The Election Commission's Narathiwat director acknowledged potential minor discrepancies but stated these did not warrant a new election. Unofficial results show Samphant Mayuso (Kla Dharm Party) winning with 36,053 votes, while Waeruslan received 35,940 votes.
