NHSO Opens Forum to Connect Dimensions, Strengthen Network to Reduce Health Inequality

The National Health Security Office (NHSO) organized an event titled 'Connecting All Dimensions: Reducing Health Inequality for Everyone in Thailand' on January 30, 2026, at the NHSO Learning Center. Dr. Pongtep Wongwatchaipiboon, NHSO manager, explained that social inequality in Thailand continues to expand, particularly economic inequality, where the poor become poorer and the rich become richer. This results in unequal access to resources in education, health, and quality of life. While Thailand has made progress in medical treatment and rehabilitation, the critical challenge remains health promotion, which is complex and interconnected with social factors like drug problems that are not just about individual choice but linked to social inequality and structures that enable drug access.
