Cabinet Approves Uniform Sugarcane Price of 890 Baht per Ton Nationwide

The Cabinet approved the sugarcane price for the 2025/2026 production season at 890 baht, establishing a uniform nationwide price to enable sugar factories to prepay sugarcane farmers. Lalida Pherishviwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the approval covers 9 sugar price calculation zones, aimed at providing farmers with advance funds for cultivation, maintenance, and living expenses. Key details include: 1. Baseline sugarcane price at 10 CCS sweetness level set at 890 baht per ton (89.65% of the estimated national average price of 992.71 baht/ton), with price fluctuations of 53.40 baht per CCS unit. 2. Initial production and sugar sales return at 10 CCS set at 381.43 baht per ton. Compared to the previous production season (2024/2025), which had a baseline price of 1,160 baht/ton at 10 CCS, the new price represents a 270 baht (23.27%) reduction, primarily due to global raw sugar export prices and sugar industry income factors.
