Shock in E-Sports: Two Athletes Arrested for Sharing Competition Credentials
On February 13, 2026, police officials announced the arrest of Ms. Napat (alias Tokyogurl), 29, and Mr. Chaiyo, 23, for unauthorized computer system access during the 33rd SEA Games Arena of Valor (RoV) women's team competition. The incident occurred during the semifinal match between Thailand and Vietnam on December 15, 2025, at Chulalongkorn University. Ms. Napat, a selected national team athlete, was given a specific competition account username 'THA_NAPHA' which was meant for her exclusive use. However, she shared both username and password with Mr. Chaiyo. Before the match against Vietnam, she attempted to have Mr. Chaiyo log in and play on her behalf through Discord, but technical issues prevented this. Competition officials detected the unauthorized communication and screen sharing, which violated competition rules. The Thai team subsequently withdrew from the competition. Police conducted searches at three locations and found critical evidence including mobile phones, IP addresses, and chat logs. Both suspects fully confessed during investigation, and on February 6, 2026, they were transferred to the Special Public Prosecutor's Office and charged with computer system access violations.
