Commerce Department Raids Samut Sakhon Warehouse, Seizes Counterfeit Goods Worth Over 63 Million Baht
The Intellectual Property Department has intensified its efforts to combat intellectual property violations by conducting a coordinated raid with economic crime police and private rights holders. On January 30, 2024, officials and representatives from R.W.T. International Law Office and Tilleke & Gibbins International collaborated to search warehouses in Samut Sakhon, uncovering 223,404 counterfeit and unlabeled items worth over 63.20 million baht. The seized goods primarily included low-quality products potentially harmful to consumer health, such as shampoo, skin lotions, face creams, serums, toothpaste, and motorcycle spark plugs. The operation was an extension of online intellectual property enforcement, targeting major offenders storing counterfeit goods. Officials emphasized the importance of consumer vigilance, urging people to purchase from reliable sources and carefully check product labels and certifications.
