Takraw Association Sets Election Date for New President on Feb 28 - Affirms Good Relations
After 'Big Tom' Thana Chaiyaprased resigned from the presidency of the Thai Takraw Association on February 3, in line with Sports Authority of Thailand regulations requiring a new election within 30 days, the association held an executive committee meeting on February 12. At the Olympic Committee meeting room, Somphong Chatawichi, the vice president, was chosen to lead the interim proceedings. Somphong stated that the meeting resolved to have him serve as acting president until a new president is elected. He emphasized that the association remains united, with all committee members committed to working together harmoniously. The new presidential election is scheduled for February 28, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Alexander Hotel. Somphong strongly denied any internal conflicts, stating that while different opinions exist, the core goal remains collective development of the association.
