Water Sports Association Selects 6 Marathon Swimmers for Asian Beach Games

The 2026 Asian Beach Games will take place in Sanya, China from April 22-30, 2569. The Water Sports Association of Thailand will compete in two sports: marathon swimming and water polo. They have selected 3 male swimmers: Komchan Wichai, Kittinan Chotistayanakorn, and Nithis Netrsawang, and 3 female swimmers: Thitirat Charoenthap, Elizabeth Galmel, and Chonphatnapha Chatiwut. Secretary General 'Coach Tuk' Thanawit Thosakul revealed that the association is sending young rising swimmers, acknowledging that the 6 Thai swimmers may not medal due to stronger competition from China and Japan. However, the goal is to provide valuable international competition experience for these emerging athletes. The team will compete in 5-kilometer individual events and a 4x1.5-kilometer mixed relay. Additionally, the association is organizing national marathon swimming championships in three series across different locations in Thailand throughout 2569.
