Khon Kaen MP Candidate Requests Vote Recount After Numerical Error
Chutchawan Apirukmonkong, a Khon Kaen MP candidate from the People's Party, has requested a vote recount after a numerical discrepancy in election results. Initially, an unofficial count at 02:00 AM showed a Bhumjai Thai party candidate with 9,890 votes. Following challenges about the 'jumping' vote count, officials corrected the number to 989 by 07:00 AM. The incident has prompted election observers and local residents in Khon Kaen District 3 to demand a full recount, suspecting similar errors might exist in other voting units. Chutchawan is preparing to file a formal challenge with the Election Commission, seeking a complete recount of District 3. The unofficial election results for District 3 show: 1. Ekachai Suebsarakham (Kla Party) with 30,646 votes, 2. Chutchawan Apirukmonkong (People's Party) with 29,214 votes, and 3. Pol. Maj. Gen. Prasart Naen-udorn (Pheu Thai Party) with 20,955 votes.
