Buddhist Monks Complete 15-Week Peace Walk in Washington, DC
A group of Buddhist monks completed their 15-week peace walk from Texas to Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, drawing large crowds and media attention. Wearing traditional saffron and maroon robes, the monks were accompanied by a rescue dog named Aloka and led by Venerable Bhikkhu Pannakara. The journey was not without challenges, including a highway accident in November that resulted in one monk losing a leg, but they remained committed to their message of peace throughout their cross-country trek.
