National Sports Development Fund Signs Agreement to Support 8 Sports with 186 Million Baht
The National Sports Development Fund held a press conference on February 12th at SC Park Hotel to announce a strategic partnership with the Sports Authority of Thailand. The project, named 'Domestic Power 2026', aims to comprehensively develop sports with targeted potential. The fund will support 8 sports including football, badminton, taekwondo, e-sports, golf, volleyball, athletics, and basketball with over 186 million baht, focusing on sports with high international popularity and potential for national achievement.
The Domestic Power project serves as a key mechanism for driving national human resource development through sports, implementing a comprehensive development system from grassroots to professional levels. It aims to create a sports population base, provide equal sports access, and develop athletes systematically through competition levels. The project also emphasizes coach development, sports science, and modern technology to raise training and competition standards to international levels.
Additionally, the project aligns with the Sports Promotion for Thai Nation Development project under royal patronage, targeting public health, sports discipline, social immunity against drugs, and creating pathways to excellence through collaboration between government, private, and public sectors.
