Commerce Ministry Highlights Trade Fairs and Business Matching Platforms for Thai Agricultural Exports to China
Sunantha Kangwalkulkit, Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), revealed that the department has instructed commercial attachés in various countries to explore trade routes and export opportunities for Thai products. The latest report from Sakorn Saensopha, Director of the Trade Promotion Office in Shanghai, China, highlights China's economic stimulus measures for 2026, focusing on leveraging consumer trends during the Chinese New Year festival. The measures target agricultural products, cultural tourism, and environmentally friendly consumption. The Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and private sector have launched the campaign 'Taste Special Products, Experience New Year Flavors', which includes new year product exhibitions, livestream e-commerce, and high-quality agricultural product promotions. This presents a golden opportunity for Thai products like durian, mangoes, high-quality rice, and Thai sauces. Thai products have an advantage due to their quality, standards, tax privileges, quick customs clearance, and the ability to sell through online platforms supported by the Chinese government. The report also highlights several upcoming events for Thai exporters, including the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in 2026, business matching conferences, and agricultural product markets in the Yangtze River Delta region.
