Female Karate Athlete from Zone 10 Wins First Gold at Khon Buriram Games
The 45th National Student Sports Competition, 'Khon Buriram Games', was held in Buriram Province on February 4, 2024. In the women's kata karate event at Thiwson Hall in Buriram Pittayakom School, Pratchyakorn Akkarat from Zone 10 Bangkok (red team) competed against Kanjanat Tangman from Zone 7 Kanchanaburi (blue team). Pratchyakorn won with a more elegant performance, securing the first gold medal of the Khon Buriram Games. Kanjanat Tangman took silver, while Kanyaphat Khirikhan from Zone 4 Loei and Phraepailin Krailert from Zone 2 Rayong won bronze. In the men's team kata event, Zone 7 Kanchanaburi won gold, Zone 3 Kanchanaburi took silver, and Zones 1 Lopburi and 4 Nakhon Sawan won bronze. Earlier that morning, the Department of Physical Education director Mongkol Wimonrat and Buriram Governor Piya Pitchana met to discuss the competition preparations. The opening ceremony will be held on February 5, 2024, at 6:00 PM, with a royal representative presiding over the event.
