Supreme Court Removes Democrat Party Candidate from Election List Due to Fraud Conviction
On February 5, 2026, the Supreme Court's Election Division published a judgment removing Chat Chai Chansai, a MP candidate from Udon Thani's District 10 for the Democrat Party, from the election candidate list. The removal is due to a previous conviction for joint fraud against the public under the Criminal Code, with the case finalized in criminal case number 2142/2552. As a result, he is now prohibited from running for parliamentary elections under the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand and related election laws.
