Closing the 20-Year Saga of Illegal Waste Dump: Minister Launches Nationwide Waste Management Cleanup
Industry Deputy Minister Yot Singha visited the Nam Daeng Community Waste Dump in Chachoengsao province to investigate complaints about foul odors and wastewater contamination. The on-site inspection revealed multiple regulatory violations, including unauthorized machinery and improper facility layout. Provincial industrial officials issued an order requiring the facility to make corrections within 30 days, covering issues such as updating facility plans, removing unauthorized equipment, and clearly defining operational zones. Singha emphasized this visit as a model for nationwide waste management reform, promising to personally follow up and ensure comprehensive improvements that protect community health and environmental standards.
