10 Star Businesses: Foreign Investors Inject 324 Billion Baht into Thai Economy

The Department of Business Development highlighted 10 star business sectors where foreign investors have brought 324 billion baht into Thailand, with Singapore leading investments at 103 billion baht. Following Singapore, Japan invested 85.6 billion baht, China 35 billion baht, Taiwan 17 billion baht, and Mauritius 16.5 billion baht. A total of 1,078 foreign investors created 6,647 jobs in Thailand. The top 10 business sectors attracting foreign investment include: 1. Contract Manufacturing (36.7% of total investment) 2. Computer Services (20.3% of total investment) 3. Rental Services (10.6% of total investment) 4. Engineering Services (8.4% of total investment) 5. Consulting Services (2.9% of total investment) These investments help transfer specialized technological knowledge and expertise to Thai businesses.
