Tae Mongkolkit Submits Documents to Election Commission, Demands 7-Day Ultimatum for Commissioners to Resign
On February 11, 2024, at the Election Commission office, Mongkolkit Suksintharanon, secretary-general of the New Alternative Party, submitted documents to Election Commission members regarding missing party votes, demanding their return and a new election. Mongkolkit claimed the election had numerous errors and should be declared void. He demanded that the 7 Election Commission members and Secretary-General Sawaeng Boonmee resign within 7 days, threatening to file criminal charges for misconduct and election law violations if they do not comply. He presented evidence of vote discrepancies in Buriram province, noting that his party's votes disappeared at a rate 10 times higher than other parties. Mongkolkit believes his party would have received 1-2 million votes and 4-5 parliamentary seats, and emphasized that the votes were based on public faith and unique policy promises.
