Ice Hockey Association Fires Back, Blames Arena Owner for 720,000 Baht Bill
The case began when Phumivisal Kasemsuks, Secretary of the Government Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC), launched an investigation into the Thailand Ice Hockey Association's arena rental expenses at the Thailand International Ice Hockey Arena (TIIHA) in Huay Khwang, Bangkok. Arena owner Jumpon Karusakdapong claimed the association was billing excessive rental fees, averaging 700,000 baht monthly, when actual usage costs were only 200,000-300,000 baht. Jumpon stated they had originally agreed on a rate of 13,000 baht per training session lasting 1-1.5 hours. However, the ice hockey association subsequently presented invoice documents showing billing of 720,000 baht for April, May, and June, complete with signatures and official stamps from The Theater of Dream Company. The Sports Authority of Thailand processed and paid these invoices in full, which were then transferred to the ice hockey arena.
