Chun Peng Wins Gold in Road Race, Defends Asian Championship Title
General Decha Hemkraseh revealed that the Thai national cycling team competed in the 2026 Asian Road Cycling Championships from February 5-11 in Saudi Arabia, winning additional medals. Major Chun Peng Nontasin secured a gold medal in the women's 40-44 age group road race, covering 46.8 km in 1 hour 22 minutes 58 seconds. This is her second gold medal in the competition and her second consecutive Asian championship in this event, following her previous two Asian Time Trial championships. Other Thai cyclists also performed well, with Narong Dech Saengchai winning a bronze medal in the men's 35-39 age group and Suriya Saengbun securing a bronze in the men's 50-54 age group. The team's overall performance was impressive, with 3 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
