Abusive Husband Claims He Beat Mistress After She Denied Affair at Hotel, Leading to Her Death
A 40-year-old man surrendered to Bang Bua Thong police in Nonthaburi province on May 14 with the body of his mistress in his vehicle. He claims he beat her in anger after she initially denied having been to a love hotel with another man, and she was found dead the next morning. The man stated he did not intend to kill her and voluntarily turned himself in to authorities.
At 10:00 AM on May 14, 2569, Winai, 40, drove his Toyota Altis bearing Bangkok registration to a lodging near Bang Bua Thong police station to surrender to authorities, bringing the body of the deceased in his vehicle.
The body was found sitting in the front passenger seat with the seat reclined. She wore a gray short-sleeved t-shirt and pink shorts, with a blanket covering her waist area. Her face showed bruising around the eyes. She was later identified as Ms. Joy.
Winai was brought in for initial questioning. He claimed the deceased was his mistress and they lived together in a rented room near Bang Pho. He said he later discovered she was secretly seeing another man—he claimed to have seen them embracing and touching intimately near a motorcycle shop, which didn't look like coworker behavior.
On the third occasion, Winai confronted her, asking if she had ever checked into a love hotel with someone else. She denied it, but he insisted he had seen both of them enter a hotel together and even knew which one. She then admitted to going to a love hotel just once.
Winai claimed his anger made him lose control. He said he hit and kicked her to vent his emotions, after which they went to sleep normally. The next morning when he woke up, he found her body stiff and lifeless. He decided to put her in his car and drive to the police station to turn himself in, saying he never intended for her to die.
