On May 5, 2026, officials at Ang Thong Municipality's assembly hall, led by Deputy District Officer Jetsada Palawat, conducted a monthly meeting with village leaders, headmen, subdisrict doctors, and assistant headmen alongside government department heads. Following the meeting, the assembly hall was closed and urine tests were administered to village leaders and headmen.
Deputy Officer Palawat explained that the drug testing was conducted after a member of parliament had called for such screenings during a legislative session on April 30. After the meeting concluded, village leaders, assistant headmen, doctors, and local officials lined up to provide samples for drug screening conducted by district health officials. Initial results showed no trace of illegal substances.
