On July 21, 2025, reports emerged that state welfare card registration continues to spark public concern across Thailand, with numerous applicants claiming they failed to meet the selection criteria. Supranee Daosuek, 39, from Suchai Pattana Village in Si Khiew District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, disclosed that she registered her mother—who is battling cancer, diabetes, and high blood pressure—for the state welfare card to help reduce the family's financial burden, as her mother had previously held such benefits. When she checked the status the first day, her mother had qualified and been approved, bringing relief to the family. However, when she checked again the following day, the benefits had been mysteriously removed from the system without any explanation, shocking and confusing the family. She questioned why proving "poverty" status had become so difficult. The family rushed to the bank seeking help to verify the eligibility information, but bank staff found no record of any benefits in the system and said they could not assist without data in their database. The case has deeply disappointed the family, who are demanding that relevant authorities urgently investigate the facts, explain the reason for the cancellation, and ensure fairness for all those affected by this welfare card registration round.

A mother posted a cautionary account of her son's medical emergency at school. On the morning of July 8, 2025, at around 8:00 a.m., her fourth-grade son reported to his teacher that he had a sore throat, stomach pain, and headache during assembly. The school called the mother to pick him up, and she arrived about 20 minutes later. When she opened the door to the school clinic, she found her son unconscious, pale, and unresponsive. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital and then transferred to Siriraj Hospital.

Doctors informed the family that the boy had suffered prolonged oxygen deprivation and his heart had stopped for approximately 10 minutes, causing severe brain damage. He remains in the ICU. The medical team requested CCTV footage from the school to assess whether there were any warning signs or abnormal symptoms before he lost consciousness, which could be crucial for treatment and determining the cause. However, the family reports they have not received full cooperation in accessing this information.

The mother emphasized that she is not writing to blame anyone, but hopes her son's case will prompt all schools in Thailand to review their emergency child care standards. She stresses that sick children placed in the clinic should be closely monitored, as symptoms can rapidly escalate from "not feeling well" to "critical" in just minutes. She calls for schools to establish clear emergency response systems, trained staff, and full cooperation in sharing necessary medical information. While she cannot turn back time to help her son, she hopes his case will protect other children and urges school administrators, teachers, parents, media, and relevant agencies to push for higher safety standards in all schools.

On July 21, 2569 at Government House, the Federation of State Enterprise Labor Relations (SSLRT), led by president Sawitthaya Kaewwan, along with labor representatives, submitted a letter to the Prime Minister. Labor Minister Chulphand Amrivivat received the letter to formally object to the CARE formula and request that the Cabinet resolution from July 14 be reviewed. That resolution approved draft regulations for old-age pension benefits using a new CARE calculation system for the Social Security Fund, as proposed by the Labor Ministry.

Labor groups are requesting the regulations be reconsidered because they will directly impact benefit entitlements and post-retirement quality of life for all Section 33 contributors nationwide. SSLRT president Sawitthaya stated that labor council leaders and unions nationwide have been monitoring the structural impact of the Cabinet resolution. Labor organizations have repeatedly raised concerns and filed formal objections by sector, but the Cabinet continues to push forward. The labor federation and worker networks plan to follow up on progress again on August 4.

Host Krachai appeared on the talk show "Mohon Krachaeng" to support a woman named Khru Saai, who had shared the heartbreaking story of losing her husband to medical malpractice. During the broadcast, Krachai disclosed that his own father, aged 74, died under similar circumstances—the doctor performed a second stent procedure without his consent, and it ruptured. He said he sneaked into the operating room and witnessed his father's heart being manually pumped with blood pouring from his mouth. Krachai revealed the hospital conducted an investigation and paid nearly 20 million baht in compensation.

Krachai defended Khru Saai against online criticism suggesting she suffered from bipolar disorder, arguing instead that her emotional breakdown was a natural response to profound grief and loss. He called on viewers to reassess their judgment and show compassion, saying her behavior was understandable given the trauma she had endured. By sharing his own painful experience, Krachai aimed to validate her suffering and discourage further character attacks.

Social Development Minister Nikhom Somklaeng announced at Government House on July 21 that his ministry submitted 1 million names for state welfare card eligibility review but only approximately 200,000 passed the criteria. He said the ministry must investigate why so many applicants were rejected and will coordinate with the Interior Ministry while awaiting cabinet guidance on how to proceed. Ministry officials are on standby to compile lists compiled with local authorities for further processing, and rejected applicants—especially persons with disabilities and the elderly—can file appeals if they prepare the required documents and evidence. Somklaeng also noted that on July 24–25, the Social Development Ministry will co-host a Universal Design festival with the Association of Persons with Disabilities of Thailand and Thammasat University at Impact Muang Thong Thani, with Deputy Prime Minister Yuthasak Sasindhorn serving as opening guest.

The ATOD Children and Youth Development Association, working with the Committee for the Coordination and Promotion of Non-Formal and Informal Education, successfully held the International Dance Festival (IDF 2026) on July 11–12 at the National Theatre of Chiang Mai College of Dramatic Arts.

Led by Dr Mom Luang Preeyapun Sridhavat, President of ATOD, the festival drew support from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Australian Teachers of Dancing International, Thai Lion Air, and major corporate sponsors. The event brought competitors from eight countries to perform across classical ballet, jazz, contemporary dance, contemporary national dance, and hip hop.

With 203 performances from 40 dance institutions, the festival highlighted the diversity of global performing arts. Two prestigious awards were presented: the Overall Highest Score Trophy on behalf of Education Minister Prasert Jantararuangtong, awarded to Miss Chanisara Tharanatham, and the Highest Score in Contemporary National Dance Trophy on behalf of Culture Minister Sabeeda Thaised, awarded to Miss Tanaporn Weeradetch.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Chiang Mai Vice Governor Boonlue Thamtharanurak and attended by distinguished guests including the Japanese Consul-General and regional education officials.
