Carragher: Alonso Will Find It Tougher to Manage Liverpool if He Takes Chelsea Job First
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes that if Xabi Alonso accepts the Chelsea job, it would complicate any future move to manage the Reds, though he still expects the former player to eventually take over Anfield.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has suggested that if Xabi Alonso takes the Chelsea managerial role, it would make managing the Reds more challenging down the line. Alonso, a former Liverpool player, is currently without a job after departing Real Madrid and has been continuously linked with becoming Chelsea's next manager. In his latest comments about Alonso's future, Carragher stated: "I've always felt that Xabi Alonso will manage Liverpool at some point, but when you manage one of our rivals like Chelsea, it does make it a bit more difficult." He added: "I can't see how you move from Chelsea to Liverpool. Perhaps he might have to wait a bit longer in the future, but he has to do what's best for himself right now."
