Drug-Addicted Son Kills Mother in Horrific Home Attack; History of Severe Drug Addiction with Hallucinations Revealed
A 37-year-old man with severe drug addiction killed his mother in Sichon District, Nakhon Si Thammarat on May 26, stabbing her multiple times during a delusional episode shortly after returning from rehabilitation.
On May 26, 2025, Deputy Superintendent Weeranya Kachaburiruk of Sichon Police Station received a report of a homicide at a residence in Sichon District, Nakhon Si Thammarat. Police, led by Superintendent Boonchuai Limpratchawapong, along with medical personnel and officials from the Phetchkasem Foundation, rushed to the scene where they discovered a gruesome sight. The victim, identified as Wannee, 64 years old, was found dead in a pool of blood in the hallway, bearing multiple stab wounds to the body and head from a large knife. The suspect was her biological son, Somsak, 37 years old, who was found wandering around the house. Officers arrested him at the scene. Investigation revealed that Somsak has a severe drug addiction history causing regular hallucinations and has undergone treatment multiple times. He recently returned from a rehabilitation center in Krabi and was living alone with his mother. Despite his condition, he continued to experience hallucinations until he became delusional and attacked his mother fatally. Somsak gave a confused statement to police. He was charged with patricide and handed over for legal proceedings.
