Deputy Education Minister Akkhananth Kannakit has ordered the Permanent Secretary of Education and the Secretary-General of the Teachers' Council to coordinate urgent assistance for the wounded and affected in the shooting incident at Thepsirin School in Nonthaburi. On August 7, 2025, Akkhananth posted a statement regarding a shooting by a student at the school that left multiple people injured and killed. He expressed profound condolences to the families of the deceased and offered encouragement to officials working to contain the situation. Although he is currently abroad heading Thailand's delegation to the World Scout Jamboree in the United Kingdom, in his capacity as director of the Ministry of Education's Rights Protection Center, he has coordinated with the Education Ministry's Permanent Secretary and the Teachers' Council Secretary-General to urgently accelerate assistance to the injured and affected in the area.
