On May 26, Deputy Spokesman of the Royal Thai Police Tri Rong Piwpan visited 59-year-old Finnish F1 legend Mika Salo at the Police Hospital for a medical examination of his injuries, which had made international headlines. Salo recounted through an interpreter that the incident was an accident and that he lost consciousness, only to discover he was injured when he regained awareness. He immediately sought medical treatment.
Salo expressed gratitude to police for their care and assistance, explaining that he came to Thailand because he loves sunshine and the Thai people. He noted the pleasant weather allows him to relax and recover. He stressed that he will definitely return to Thailand in the future, as he has full confidence in the country's safety and finds the atmosphere very welcoming.
