On May 4, 2026, at 5:15 a.m., authorities responded to reports of a shooting victim who suffered critical injuries before dying at the hospital in Mueang District, Pattani.
The deceased was identified as Marahlee, 67, a member of the Thanon Subdistrict Council.
An autopsy at Mueang Hospital revealed he was shot multiple times across his body, including 10 rounds to the right torso, 1 round to the left arm, and 8 rounds to the right leg.
According to the victim's wife, before the incident he had left home to perform the Subuh prayer at the mosque, which was about 100 meters away. When he stepped outside the house, she heard multiple gunshots ring out in rapid succession before discovering her husband shot and collapsed on the ground.
