Health Center Director Defends Against Harassment Claims
Staff at Khlong Neung Health Promotion Center in Pathum Thani have defended their director against harassment allegations, denying claims he encouraged card-playing during work hours and calling him an ethical administrator.
Staff members have come forward to defend the director of Khlong Neung Health Promotion Center in Pathum Thani, asserting he is being harassed and is actually a capable, ethical administrator. The controversy began when a popular anti-corruption Facebook page posted allegations that the director was encouraging staff to play cards in the outpatient ward during evening hours, with staff reportedly unwilling to participate because they kept losing. The health center is located in the Bang Khen market area of Khlong Neung subdistrict, Khlong Luang district, Pathum Thani province. When reporters attempted to interview the director on September 21, staff said he was unavailable and had gone to meet with provincial administration officials regarding the allegations.
According to one staff member, the director is currently traveling to the Pathum Thani Provincial Administration office to address the matter in person. The staff member expressed belief that the situation stems from internal harassment among colleagues. One staff member had previously resigned due to dissatisfaction with the director's order requiring all staff to rotate shift duties. The staff member firmly denied that the card-playing allegations have any basis in truth and characterized the director as an effective and honorable administrator, though they said full details would need to come from the director himself.
Pathum Thani Provincial Administration has taken over direct oversight of 27 health promotion centers in the province to better support resources, personnel, and equipment. This includes providing vehicles to staff to improve efficiency in serving residents across their service areas.
