Local Exam Fraud Probe Nearly Complete, PM Says
Prime Minister Anutin says the government has completed its investigation into local exam fraud, with prosecutions and disciplinary actions finished; court sentencing remains pending.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul stated at the Interior Ministry on August 3 that the fraud investigation into local government entrance exams is complete in terms of government action. All procedural steps—including accusations, prosecution, and serious disciplinary investigations—have been concluded, and the cancellation of test results has been carried out. The government has also taken steps to hold accountable those involved in the scheme. Anutin emphasized that the only remaining step is for the courts to hand down sentences against those responsible, as that falls outside the government's jurisdiction. When asked whether the case would be wrapped up this week, he deferred to the Interior Ministry, noting that various committees must still meet. He stressed that the government has fulfilled all its obligations and directed questions about the timeline to the Interior Ministry.
