MAI-Listed Companies Report Combined Sales of 51.66 Billion Baht with Net Profit of 2.526 Billion Baht
MAI-listed companies posted combined first-quarter sales of 51.66 billion baht, up 3.3%, with net profit surging 25.3% to 2.526 billion baht as companies improved operational efficiency despite economic headwinds.
Companies listed on the mai reported first quarter 2025 results with combined sales of 51.66 billion baht, up 3.3%, and total net profit of 2.526 billion baht, up 25.3%. MAI Market Manager Praphan Charoenprawat disclosed that 216 of 222 listed companies—representing 97%—submitted their Q1 2025 financial results. Sales reached 51.66 billion baht with a 3.3% increase, while cost of sales totaled 38.159 billion baht, up 3.1%. This resulted in a slight improvement in gross profit margin (GPM) from 26.0% to 26.1%. Selling and administrative expenses (SG&A) reached 9.581 billion baht, up 2.5%, leading to operating profit of 3.92 billion baht, growing 7.8%, and net profit of 2.526 billion baht, up 25.3%. This reflects strong adaptability, with operating profit margin (OPM) increasing from 7.3% to 7.6% and net profit margin (NPM) rising from 4.0% to 4.8%. "Q1 2025 performance of mai-listed companies maintained healthy profitability margins amid economic challenges and declining consumer purchasing power," Praphan noted. "While some mai companies demonstrated effective cost management, others restructured their businesses to achieve sales growth." Two business sectors showed growth in both sales and net profit: the financial and services sectors. The agriculture and food industry and industrial goods sectors remained stable, though some sectors faced pressure from weakening consumer demand, particularly consumer goods and real estate. Regarding financial position, mai companies held total assets of 313.795 billion baht, up 3.7% from year-end 2024, with a debt-to-equity ratio of 0.74 times, up from 0.70 times at end-2024. As of May 25, 2025, there are 229 listed companies on mai. The mai index closed at 214.37 points, with market capitalization at 208.27 billion baht and average daily trading value of 374.93 million baht.
