Maxbit Blocks Wallets Linked to Shuffle, Cooperates with Authorities
Thai digital asset exchange Maxbit has blocked wallets linked to the platform Shuffle, which is embroiled in a political controversy, and submitted transaction data to the Department of Special Investigation. CEO Pakhet Ratkijpakarn said a 200,000 baht transfer to Shuffle initially passed automated checks but was later flagged, prompting the firm to tighten its risk controls and cooperate fully with authorities.
Maxbit Digital Asset Co., Ltd. has immediately escalated its monitoring measures, blocking wallets linked to Shuffle and providing full information to the DSI, opening the way for state agencies to conduct a thorough investigation.
On October 24, 2026, CEO Pakhet Ratkijpakarn posted on Facebook to clarify the facts surrounding a digital asset transaction worth approximately 200,000 baht that was withdrawn and transferred to Shuffle, which is currently in the spotlight over political issues. He confirmed that the company prioritizes preventing transactions potentially linked to illegal acts and operates a blockchain transaction analysis system to assess the risk of destination addresses alongside transaction values, using these as criteria to approve or reject withdrawals according to set standards. The adoption of blockchain analytics tools is a proactive measure to enhance risk management efficiency, even though current Thai regulatory guidelines do not yet explicitly require operators to use such tools. The company aims to develop verification processes aligned with the complex and constantly evolving risks of digital asset transactions.
Pakhet further explained that in the case of the roughly 200,000 baht transfer to Shuffle, the analytics tools have limitations in risk assessment, particularly for new addresses with insufficient supporting data at the time of the transaction. Since verifying address connections also relies on data from multiple sources, the company used these facts to review and upgrade its additional verification measures.
However, after information about Shuffle surfaced in the news, the company urgently re-examined the case and added measures to block Shuffle's addresses as well as directly related addresses, without relying solely on analytics tool results. It has continuously coordinated with state agencies and submitted information to the committee on October 22 to support the fact-finding process.
Pakhet stated that the company emphasizes risk control at every transaction step. For digital asset deposits, while it cannot prevent every transaction at the source, it can still suspend the crediting of assets to customer accounts according to relevant procedures and guidelines to prevent internal system risks.
"Although said transaction value is not large compared to the total volume of digital asset withdrawals through the platform, the company does not use transaction value as a criterion to downplay risk importance. We prioritize verifying every transaction potentially linked to illegal acts, and we will incorporate this incident into improving surveillance and transaction screening measures to make them more stringent, thereby raising risk management standards and building long-term confidence in digital asset services," Pakhet said.
Meanwhile, Maxbit Digital Asset Co., Ltd. issued a statement confirming full readiness to cooperate with the committee and related agencies. The company has previously provided information upon request without delay, including verifying transactions and rejecting dealings with digital asset wallet addresses flagged as risky under its measures. The company acknowledges that the responsibility of a digital asset business operator covers both providing information for investigation and developing risk prevention standards.
