Nippit Slams Hard! Saksiyam Case Shows Political Maneuvering as Opposition MPs Dodge NACC Investigation
Opposition figures question the NACC's dismissal of corruption charges against former Transport Minister Saksiyam, viewing the decision as evidence of political maneuvering between coalition parties and opposition silence.
Nippit interprets the 'Saksiyam' share-hiding case as reflecting political maneuvering between Pheu Thai and Bhumjaithai, urging scrutiny of opposition MPs who joined the 'Hhua vaccine' campaign and refused to sign complaints with the NACC. On April 29, 2569, Nippit Intharasombat, former Phatthalung MP from the Democratic Party, posted on Facebook criticizing the National Anti-Corruption Commission's (NACC) decision to dismiss charges against Saksiyam Chidchop, former Transport Minister, accused of nominee share ownership in Buri Charoen Construction and false asset declarations—contradicting the Constitutional Court's ruling that terminated his ministerial position. He noted: "To fight a case against Saksiyam, you must think like Saksiyam. When there's a legal case, we typically think in standard ways about how things should be, but sometimes standard thinking leads to losing cases." The case originated after Saksiyam lost at the Constitutional Court, then sued Suphawat to recover 119.5 million baht in shares, claiming he only discovered them after the court ruling. Despite losing again, he appealed and settled at the appeals court, allowing the shares to go to Suphawat. He then used that settlement judgment as evidence before the NACC, which ordinary people find unbelievable but the NACC accepted, creating controversy. Nippit noted that Pheu Thai, when in opposition, filed the complaint but remains silent now that the NACC has decided—while others voice concerns. This raises suspicion that Pheu Thai has "merged" with Bhumjaithai. He suggested opposition MPs unwilling to petition the Supreme Court for NACC investigation have likely received the "Hhua vaccine" and developed immunity.
